Hitachi Data Systems invites you to a personal Storage Economics workshop at this year's CeBIT exhibition in Hannover.
More than ever before organisations are looking at how they can drive more value from IT investments. Hitachi Data Systems has developed a methodology called Storage Economics, a suite of methodologies, tools and services that help organisations identify the total cost of storage ownership and provide strategies to help customers reduce ongoing costs.
With the price of disk capacity typically less than 25 percent of the total cost of owning the disk over three to four years, Hitachi Data Systems employs storage economics to identify and characterize the remaining 75 percent of the total cost of ownership (TCO), and to present how new storage architectures can be instrumental in improving storage costs with excellent return on investment (ROI).
This 90minute one on one session, hosted by David Merrill, Hitachi's Chief Economist and Global Business Consultant, we will relate the Storage Economics methodologies to your specific environment and discuss potential cost saving tactics and strategies, and economically superior storage architectures.
This workshop is a reduced version of a 1 day Storage Economics workshop that we run with clients around the world. In the 90 minute version we will focus in on the economic impact of the technologies at the heart of the modern storage platform: storage virtualisation, dynamic tiering and dynamic (thin) provisioning.
Your personal workshop will be arranged at the Hitachi Data Systems Booth, Meeting Room 1 in Hall 2, Stand A20.
Who should attend?
- Senior IT management, Storage managers, architects and members of finance and procurement functions interested in quantifying the cost benefits of IT storage investments
Workshop pre-requisites
- To ensure you get the most out of the workshop, it would help if you bring along with you:
- A general inventory of your storage assets such as the quantity, type, capacity and age of your current storage systems
- Data growth rates and any data classification if available (data type, priority, age etc.)
- Do not worry if you cannot provide some of the data points above, a key strength of our modelling is the use of industry averages and empirical data generated from our experience with over 600 clients globally.
Output & next steps
- At the end of the workshop you will receive a summary of the potential savings in your storage environment.
- If you are interested, we can provide a more detailed proposal with solution costs to give the full ROI position. We can also organize presentations on specific solutions and if needed, provide further analysis - either through a 1 day in-depth on-site workshop or multi-day assessment service.
